OUR FOUNDER
The Tzedakah Project was founded by Randy D Adler during the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020. No stranger to charitable giving in his community, Mr. Adler has been widely recognized for his efforts to serve others around him. He is the owner of Pookie Enterprises, Inc., the parent company of the former The Preferred Caterer, Inc., Preferred To-Go, and currently Babs Restaurant, administered from its Midtown Atlanta headquarters.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Randy has truly made Atlanta his professional and personal home for over 30 years. In addition to his work in the restaurant industry, he was a member of the Board of Atlanta Jewish Family and Career Services, on the Board of the Atlanta Jewish Federation for Planning and Allocations, and was a designee on the esteemed Goldstein Council. Selected from more than 600 applicants, Mr. Adler earned a nomination and selection by Incorporated Magazine as a Positive Performer Award finalist. The national award recognizes businesses determined to excel in customer service.
As Founder and Chairman of the Board for The Tzedakah Project, Randy is extremely active in the day-to-day operations and is constantly seeking new ways to improve the community.

THE INSPIRATION
If you have ever met Randy, then you have surely heard about his incredible parents, Bob and Marcia Adler. Currently residing in Florida, they are always in our hearts and on our minds as they instilled great values and a desire to care for others in their son.
Randy believes in a philosophy of "what would Bob and Marcia do?" and the world is a much improved place thanks to the Adler family.

THE TEAM
Our Executive Director, Katie Lewis, is originally from Oregon but truly feels as if Georgia is her home. After graduating from Emory University, she dove head first into the hospitality industry, where she and Randy first became acquainted.
She now brings over a decade of experience in events and hospitality to this team and is thrilled to be spearheading this project with him.
